Alfonso Góngora’s work is endorsed by the more than 160 years of history of his workshop, which he inherits from his ancestors. Since the age of 15, he has focused his professional life on the wheel and on the Ubetense pottery tradition, he has been modeling and enriching said tradition with new techniques, being a workshop that stands out for its skill in making pieces on a wheel, many of them of great size, and for using very varied techniques: starting with the traditional green of Úbeda, such as white and blue, dry rope or under cover, as well as rescuing and performing Rakú demonstrations. In the decoration, Tony Cruz, Alfonso’s wife, plays a fundamental role in this workshop, highlighting his ability to paint with a brush, in the fretwork and sgraffito of the pieces.
